Learning value of stuff by moving overseas →
“I didn’t know it at the time, but this event was a stake in the ground for us. Here, we made a big change. We jettisoned almost all our physical possessions, and from that moment forward, became hyper-selective about what we allowed in our home. If we just went through the pain-staking process of saying goodbye to our things, why haphazardly welcome more stuff in, stuff that will...

This is always a quest ~But the great thing it does enable you to meet people and share with others… rather then being a lonely cold hotel room with a TV….

There’s my big news.
Mid-October I’m going to do something awesome, I’m going to move to India for 3 months.
I’m taking everything I have, the technology, the social, all of it…and we’re going to hit New Delhi, Mumbai, and beyond.
Why?
Why not.
Exactly. Why not.

Six Items Or Less →
Starting Monday, June 21st 2010, a group of people from California to Dubai are going to take part in a little experiment: each participant gets to choose six (and only six) items of clothing and pledge to wear onlythese six items of clothing for a month. They’ll share their experiences here at sixitemsorless.com
Back to Basics →
This is a post I just found from a few years ago talking about the concept of a personal uniform in minimalism, it’s an area I’m going to talk more about so I wanted to throw this spark out there again.
However, I don’t tend to own more than one of these sorts of things at a time...

More on Rolf Pott's no baggage RTW trip
Rolf’s five rules for the trip:
1) No bags on the journey, period.
2) No borrowing of items from (or stowing items with) the cameraman.
3) Borrowing items from locals or other travelers is permitted
4) Buying items along the way is permitted
5) Mailing items to oneself is interesting, but not permitted.
Follow along at Rolfs RTW blog, and the twitter account for the project.

MICRONET Microfiber Towel (Amazon) →
One thing I am constantly missing on the road is a decent, quick-drying travel towel. Sure, it’s One More Thing, but whether I’m hopping out of the ocean or trying to wash up in an airport bathroom, I keep thinking I’d find one handy. I’ve just bought this little microfiber number in sexy Emergency Orange, but I have my doubts the microfiber will keep mildew at bay as well...
